Deepak Lamba comes from a strong broadcasting background having spent 16 years in the media industry. Prior to joining the Times Group in 2012 as President – Times Centre For Learning & Times Conferences Ltd, he was Business Head – Bloomberg UTV, where he moved after spending over 6 years at MTV Networks & Viacom 18 and was responsible for incubating & heading Viacom Brand Solutions. In early 2015 he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Worldwide Media.

 

Being an integral part of BCCL, Mr. Lamba currently, heads three key businesses

 

As the CEO of Worldwide Media, a leading Lifestyle and Entertainment company, Mr Lamba is responsible

for a bouquet of iconic and new age brands and their properties across events, digital and TV. The portfolio under WWM includes, Filmfare, Femina, BBC TopGear, HELLO!, BBC GoodHomes, GRAZIA, Lonely Planet Magazine India, Home Trends and BBC Knowledge.

 

Mr. Lamba also heads Times Strategic Solutions, erstwhile Times Conferences Ltd as the President.  The same is functional under the brand name ET Edge, an Economic Times initiative founded to empower multiple industries and segments by sharing critical business knowledge through strategic conferences and summits. ET Edge conferences are primarily B2B platforms which bring together industry heads, vertical experts, academicians, government, visionaries and thought leaders for insightful conversations which aid in drawing the blue print for policy changes and giving directions to these critical sectors.

 

Encouraged by the success of educational initiatives and with a desire to improve the state of education in India, the Times group started expanding into the education sector with the launch of TimesPro – which focuses on short-term courses that enhance employability among the youth. As a Mentor at Times Centre for Learning Ltd (Times PRO), Mr Lamba focuses on pooling in knowledge resources from BCCL’s diverse group companies and allocates them towards professional programs. So, besides gaining an upper hand when it comes to course curriculum and study material, this also acts in favour of the students during the time of placements at India’s top corporate houses.

 

As a part of his extensive tenure in media, Mr. Lamba has previously been associated with various media houses. He joined MTV in 2006 as associate director, Viacom Brand Solutions. Within a year, he was promoted as director, Viacom Brand Solutions. Four years later, he moved to Bloomberg UTV as business head in January, 2010. He put in his papers at Bloomberg UTV in April 2012.

 

Mr. Lamba is an alumnus of University of Pune and had completed his education from The Bishop’s School- Pune, one of the esteemed educational institutions in the year 1993.
